Church of the Holy Trail

Location: Red Barn Picnic Area (Golden Gate Canyon SP)

The (sadly defunct) Golden Gate Dirty 30! We'll start at 8:00am Sunday where the race starts, at the Red Barn in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. We'll attempt to do the whole course, as well as I can remember it! There's potable water available at a few spots in the park, but no food anywhere, aside from a bit of carrion here and there (i.e. bring food). Anyone desiring a shorter day can easily cut the course short and return to our starting point. As always, everyone's welcome to join for as much or as little as desired. Our pace is mellow, and no one will be left behind. C'mon out for a beautiful run! Our starting point at 8:00am Sunday will be the Red Barn picnic area. Please carpool! Let's gather in the Eldo Skiers Lot in time for a 7:10am departure. Blessed congregants in the pews of the "Church of the Holy Trail", With the hot glow of Satan's breath upon us, the gods and goddesses of the "Church of the Holy Trail" beckon us heavenward, for the time is nigh to reinvigorate our love and appreciation for all the mountainy coolness showered upon us by the heavens. The saints and cherubs alike beckon us closer to the altar, to higher ground, in which to celebrate the abundant beauty of our environs! In these trying times, let us move forth from the petty squabbles of humanity, and lay plans for a day of communion with our congregation and immersion in a garden of delights! As the Apostle Mark hath writ, "Upon the Mount, ye shall discover the love from the Heavens, as well as opportunities to hunt tonight's dinner!" With that dancing vision in our heads, gather we shall in a hilly wonderland, whenceupon we can practice the beauty that lies ahead: Let's go to Golden Gate Canyon! Although the race is no more, the park shall still welcome us, and the trails are delightful! Here's the scoop: Let''s go run as much of the Golden Gate Dirty Thirty course as we can, before dusk, when the bouncers send us home. It's a lovely course in a spectacular park, not far from home. What's not to like? The details are above. Most importantly, bring plenty of food & clothing, and a cheery giggle for all our stoopid jokes all day long! This is gonna be a treat, getting us ready for our summer events. C'mon out for a very special day!
